Thinking about visiting?
What to expect on a Sunday
All are welcome at First Christian Church. Below are some things that might help you as you consider visiting for the first time (and we hope you do!). If you prefer to worship from home or are not able to come to FCC, join us (click the “Watch Now” button at the top of the page) for a live streamed Sunday worship at 9:00 a.m. The service is also streamed on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/BLMFCC

Choose Your Worship Service
Note: at this time we only offer the 9:00 a.m. service. At 9:00 a.m. we worship in the Sanctuary which has wooden pews, beautiful stained glass, and both a main level and balcony. This service is fairly traditional, with hymns, organ and piano music, Chancel Choir, sermon, and communion. What to wear? You’ll find people in everything from suits and ties to t-shirts and shorts. Come as you are.
Make Your Way to the church, Park, and Come on In!
First Christian is located at 401 West Jefferson St., just a block away from Madison St. and right across from the fire station.
We have Visitor spots in our parking lot to the north of the church. Please use one of these spots reserved for you and come in the church through the north entrance. There are stairs and an elevator available. When you get to the main level, turn left and you will find our Centrum with signs directing you to the Sanctuary for the 9:00 a.m. service.
Children
Your children are welcome at all services. At the 9:00 a.m. service, there is a special Time for Children when children are invited to come to the front of the sanctuary and listen to a short, age-appropriate introduction to the day’s worship theme. Following that, children ages 4-2nd grade are invited to Worship and Wonder, a worship program designed especially for children (more about Worship and Wonder). Or, if you prefer, he/she can stay in the sanctuary with you. Children learn so much from worshiping next to people who love them. We enjoy children and understand sometimes they make noise. Rest assured…we have been there!
Childcare is also available in the nursery for children who have not started kindergarten yet. All of our nursery staff have been thoroughly background checked and are kind, loving adults. The nursery is on the lower level across from the elevator.
Welcome to the Info Desk
In the Centrum are volunteers to help with your questions about where to take your children for Sunday School or childcare, how to find the rest rooms, or anything you might want to know about FCC. At the Information Center, there are also activity bags available for children. Next to the Info Desk is the Snack Bar. On Sundays, there are donuts, coffee, and ice water available. They are for YOU!
Welcome to the Sanctuary or Fellowship Hall
As you arrive you will pick up a bulletin filled with information about the service, programs and activities of the church, and other announcements that we hope are helpful for visitors and members. Sit wherever you wish. Note: if you have young children, you may be tempted to sit in the back. You can do that if you wish. However, you may find that your child will be more interested in worship if he/she is seated close to the front where the view is better!

We Would Love to Meet You!
